Successful Totally Trades events were held in April in Bangor at United Technologies Center and in Presque Isle at Northern Maine Community College.  Nearly 250 girls attended hands-on workshops in areas such as heavy equipment operation, construction,TT 2013 Presque Isle 036welding, cable technician and automotive.  In Bangor a panel of  women employed in nontraditional careers  offered personal insights around their chosen career paths and pointers for success in the field.  In Presque Isle a panel comprised of female Career and Technical Education students from around Aroostook County talked about what it feels like to learn in male-dominated class rooms and labs and why they chose a nontraditional career track.

One participant noted, “I loved it so much.  I can’t wait to tell my family and friends about this day. I would love to come again and again.”
