We are pleased to welcome our new Southern Region Workforce Specialist, Lisa Sweet!
Lisa will be providing career planning and financial education services in Cumberland and York Counties from our Centers in South Portland and the University College at Saco. She joins our staff from the University of Southern Maine (USM), where she recently held the position of Associate Director of Admissions, Graduate Programs.
Lisa is a leader with 17 years of experience in academia and the non-profit sector. She has counseled hundreds of prospective college-bound students regarding their future education and career aspirations. Lisa is motivated by building genuine relationships and helping others. She is an engaging workshop facilitator and brings excellent organization and event planning skills to NVME.
Lisa holds a master’s degree in Leadership Studies from USM, and is currently pursuing a master’s in Counseling from USM. She most recently completed graduate coursework in Career Development and is anxious to utilize what she learned to assist New Ventures Maine participants.
New Ventures Maine, a program of UMA and the UMS, helps people all over the state venture in new directions by offering tuition-free programs for career, business, and financial education.
