Southern Region Marketing Mini-Grant Awarded

The contest was held at New Ventures Maine’s South Portland office on November 6th. Somerman will receive $400 towards investing in targeted Facebook ads to increase company awareness. The Wiser Miser, LLC offers financial coaching and virtual CFO services for families and small businesses.
 
“I am honored and thrilled,” said Somerman. “I’m also so happy to have the feedback included. I always love working on improving even more. I can’t wait to report back my success!”
 
NVME regional manager and microenterprise specialist Gigi Guyton said Somerman delivered an excellent, clear presentation. “The judges thought her pitch was well thought out, organized, and on target with goals.”
 
The Southern Region (Cumberland and York County) judges were: Peter Godsoe, of Norway Savings Bank; Clair Nordhus, New Ventures Maine Ambassador and Owner of Maine Natural Hair and Skin; and Sarah Hutchins, of New Ventures Maine.
 
New Ventures Maine (NVME)’s marketing mini-grant program aims to strengthen access to markets for micro-businesses by supporting the development of marketing tools, materials, and activities. The mini-grants are funded in part by Norway Savings Bank. New Ventures Maine holds the marketing mini-grant program twice a year at six locations statewide.
