Class Description

Are you considering a return to school but don’t know how to get started?  This workshop will help you learn about financial options for your education and identify the steps you need to take.  You will hear about how to apply for Federal Financial Aid and learn how to wisely use student loans to meet your goals.

Also discussed will be the special Family Development Account Matched Savings program for qualified Knox County residents over age 18. The program allows participants who meet the guidelines  to save up to $1,000 of their own money, which will matched $4 to each $1 saved  for school expenses. The Knox County Education FDA is a collaboration among the Maine Family Development Account Coalition, the Worthington Family Foundation, and Women, Work and Community.
