Martha coaches and teaches classes for entrepreneurs in Southern Maine. She has over 15 years of hands-on experience in education and running a small business. As a co-founder of MAIZ Colombian Street Food in Portland, she directs all facets of business development and management for the restaurant. Martha’s international teaching experience includes developing curriculum and teaching math and geography to middle schoolers at Colegio Jorge Washington in Cartagena, Colombia, teaching 6th graders at Hope Academy in the British Virgin Islands, and long-term substitute teaching at Dora L Small Elementary School in South Portland. She earned a master’s degree in Education at Hunter College in New York City and a bachelor’s degree in Cultural Anthropology from Vassar College. In her spare time, Martha loves exploring new places and learning about Maine’s food systems.
