I am a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) based in Harrington, Maine. In 2015 for my initial training, I attended ASIS Massage Education in Prescott, Arizona, where I completed 750 hours of massage therapy education. I further pursued a 350-hour teacher-training program and worked for ASIS for over a year, taking on various roles in administration, admissions, and as a massage instructor before pursuing massage full time in 2017.

After moving back to Maine and starting my practice from scratch, I recognized the importance of building an online presence to connect with the community. Through extensive research on resources for small businesses in Maine I discovered New Ventures Maine (NVME). I enrolled in business startup workshops and the Empower by GoDaddy course (now known as Build Your Business Website), which helped me design my own website.

During the course, I worked with my NVME coach to address specific questions about the GoDaddy website builder. Their feedback was invaluable, and I realized that creating a website wasn’t as difficult as I had initially thought!

In addition to my massage practice, I will soon be launching my next venture, The Massage Maven, a national consulting service for current and prospective massage therapists and instructors, drawing on my broad range of experience. I’m also working on a book that details my educational and professional journey.

An important part of my story is that I was homeschooled and didn’t complete high school. I earned my GED as a young adult and new mother, and I want others to know that success doesn’t always require following a conventional path.
