40 Stories for 40 Years – Profilee 2

When Brian took NVME’s Venturing Forth class in 2016, he was looking for support from an organization that “instilled confidence.” He found that at New Ventures Maine.

During his time with NVME, Brian learned helpful skills to redefine failure and feel empowered. He shares that before the class his self-growth was hindered due to lack of good information and knowledge. By completing the Venturing Forth Class, he “gained the confidence to move forward and expand” his gourmet marshmallow business.   In addition, he enjoyed learning techniques like how to better price and market his products.

Brian has expanded Sweet Delight Confections since taking Venturing Forth.  Brian says, “I feel successful now as I am finally able to take a draw from my business.” Bringing his son Levi on board will help Brian meet future demands and build a legacy with his business. Having his son work with him also brings him great joy!

Brian hopes to further expand his business as he works on recipes for his adult marshmallow line – marshmallows infused with alcohol. He is also planning to add fudge as a new product.

Brian recommends that people consider taking Venturing Forth. He affirms, “Everyone has a talent that they can market.” He describes the class as, “fun, enlightening, and beneficial in all aspects of my business.”
