New Ventures Maine recently announced the winners of the statewide 2026 Marketing Mini-Grant Competition. Timber Candle Bar & Boutique is a Northern Maine winner of a $1,000 mini-grant to boost marketing.

Timber Candle Bar & Boutique is a one-of-a-kind candle making and retail experience. The company’s mission is to create a warm, welcoming place where people can slow down, have fun, and make something meaningful—through hands-on candle experiences, thoughtfully curated gifts, and hometown hospitality rooted in Aroostook County pride.

“Our long-term plan is to grow Timber as a destination in Aroostook County—a place where customers come for a hands-on candle pouring experience, return for seasonal events, and also shop for gifts and specialty products,” said Founder Geraldine “Gerri” Nadeau. “To do that, we need marketing that is professional and consistent.”

Funding will be used to strengthen the business’s online presence, promote experiences and events through consistent content and paid ads, and create professional, branded, reusable marketing assets. Marketing activities include professional photo and video content for social media, ads, and website use; social media advertising; and print materials.

The mini-grant was made possible with financial support from the Northern Maine Development Commission.
