New Ventures Maine has announced the winner of a Marketing Mini-grant competition for small businesses in Aroostook County. The competition was sponsored by Katahdin Trust Company, a local community bank with sixteen locations serving northern Maine and the greater Bangor and Portland regions.
One awardee was selected from a strong group of applicants across Aroostook County: Suite 7 Yoga & Ayurveda of Houlton. Owner Linda Rowe received an award of $1,000 and plans to use the grant to partner with local businesses to update and improve the organization’s website, invest in professional photos for web and social channels, build engaging social media campaigns, and employ additional strategies for increasing brand recognition.
Katahdin Trust Company Assistant Vice President, Marketing Officer Sam Clockedile stated, “We are proud to support small businesses in the communities where we live, work, and play. Suite 7 Yoga & Ayurveda is deserving of this mini-grant and we hope that these marketing funds will help them to grow their business.”
Suite 7 Yoga & Ayurveda is dedicated to helping people to access their own ability to heal and be whole in mind and body. The studio offers group yoga classes, private sessions, and Ayurveda consultations at Two Water Street, Suite 7 in Houlton.
New Ventures Maine’s Marketing Mini-grant criteria include having five or fewer employees, gross annual sales of $250,000 or less, sales in the current year, and articulating a compelling marketing project to support business growth.
