Build Your Career: Try a college class!

Woman sitting at computer in labA new school year is just around the corner.  Why not try a college class?  It’s a great way to see what’s new in college learning, find out if college is a good fit for you now, and invest in yourself by learning something new.

In today’s world of work we all need to keep learning and increasing our skills. One class can be the beginning of your journey to advancing your career or earning a college degree.

Interested? Here are some options!

Find a class. Maine Adult Education programs offer a college classes at a reduced rate or even free!

Ready to try distance learning? Check out online learning options at the University of Maine at Augusta or the Maine Community Colleges.

Show what you know.  Important: you may be able to earn college credit for skills and knowledge acquired through military service, work experience, volunteer work, or studying on your own.  Many colleges offer a Prior Learning Assessment process to help you identify what you have achieved outside of school. Learn more on the University of Southern Maine website  or the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning.
